Sydney Lynch
Sydney Lynch grew up in Kingwood, Texas, and started her volleyball career in the 5th grade at the local YMCA. She played volleyball at Kingwood High School as a Defensive Specialist/Libero. Her junior year the Mustangs advanced to the Texas 5A State Volleyball Tournament and finished 3rd. While at KHS she also participated in basketball and track and field specializing in pole vault.
Coach Lynch received a full scholarship to play volleyball at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas under the leadership of Coach David Rehr (currently the University of Houston's head volleyball coach). While at Blinn the Buccaneers won their conference division in 2006 and made two NJCAA National appearances in 2006 and 2007 finishing 4th both years. In 2007 she was voted All-Region and in 2008 she was voted as a NJCAA Academic All-American. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Blinn in 2008 with her Associate of Science Degree with a 3.9 GPA.
Following Blinn, Sydney Lynch transferred to Stephen F. Austin State University where she played for the Lumberjacks under Coach Debbie Humphreys. There she received several awards and titles including Dean's List, President's Honor Roll, Athletic Director's Honor Roll, Commissioner's Honor Roll, Academic All-District, and in 2009 the Southland Conference All-Academic Volleyball First Team Award. Coach Lynch graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.9 GPA from SFA in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in health science.
Coach Lynch entered education in 2011 at Tomball Memorial High School teaching science and coaching volleyball, basketball, and track. In the classroom, she has taught Health, PE, Integrated Physics and Chemistry (IPC), Biology, Honors Biology, Chemistry, Honors Chemistry and served as the Science Department Chair for TMHS for several years. Coach Lynch spent 9 years as the girl's head track and field coach and assistant volleyball coach. She was excited to make the transition to the head volleyball coach position in 2020, and plans to continue to build the program to be one of the strongest in the area.
Coach Lynch is loved and supported at home and in the stands by her husband, Todd Lynch, and their baby girl Rion!
